Creative Thinking, Problem Solving Game; Age 5+ yrs
Imagine you have gone trekking or camping in a forest. You come across certain problems and need to find solutions to these using just the things you have i.e. the objects displayed on the cards in your hand! The objects are everyday objects that you possibly would take with you when you go for this adventure in the forest. The solution to a problem can be imaginative and creative but it must make sense logically. And you have to explain your solution to the other players to move on. Invalid solutions don't count. Since the object cards are shuffled and dealt, players are forced to come up with different solutions to the same problems.
Think A Link can be played either competitively or cooperatively. The game is super easy to setup and you can start playing in a snap! It is fun for the entire family.
Suppose the problem card is "Bear Approaching" and the cards in hand are 'Fire, Map, Fishing Rod, Set of Clothes'. You could use -
Fire - Animals are afraid of fire. The bear will run away if you try to strike him using fire.
Fishing Rod - Bears love fish. You can catch fish with the fishing rod and feed the bear. Run away when the bear is busy eating fish.
Creativity and Problem Solving - Since object cards will be shuffled and dealt each time, it forces the players to come up with new creative solutions for the same problems. Out-of-the-box thinking is encouraged.
Logical Reasoning - The proposed solution must make sense logically. This forces the players to think through their proposed solution with logic and appropriate reasoning.
Oral Expression - The proposed solution has to be explained to the other players. This enhances oration, language fluency and expression.
